Who am I?

I was born and raised in beautiful Portland, Oregon by my two wonderful parents, Max & Toni Powarczuk.  From my adolescent years, I was always taught that God comes first, followed by Health, Family, Friends, Education and the numerous activities that keep my life fulfilled.  I can honestly say that there is never a boring day and that I treat each day as if it’s my last.

Today I live in Tigard, Oregon with my wonderful wife Lisa & son's, Mason & Trysten.  When I’m not working, I try to spend every minute with them and they certainly keep me busy! 

How did I get here?

I attended college at Portland State University and the University of Oregon.  There I studied in the School of Business with an emphasis in Finance, a major in Marketing and minors in Math & Speech Communications.

In the year 2000, I started my mortgage career at Majestic Mortgage Services in downtown Portland as a Loan Officer.  At Majestic I gained the knowledge and expertise in residential home lending that I needed to establish the base for the rest of my mortgage career. 

In July of 2005, I was offered a position as a Financial Specialist working for a California based Company, Paramount Equity Mortgage.  At Paramount I quickly became a Top Producer and earned accolades both as President’s Club Member and #1 Producer in 2005, 2006, 2007 and the majority of 2008 in my Portland branch.  Upon my decision to leave the company in December of 2008, I was recognized as the #5 All-Time Top Producer in the history of the company.  All of these accolades, a direct result of my commitment to building relationships with each customer and standing by my word - to deliver the best written rate & fee structure that loan will warrant.  Follow that up with excellent customer service and a positive attitude and that equals a recipe for success.

I cherish the relationships that I’ve been able to build with my customers over the years and truly thank each and every one of them for their trust, commitment and referrals of their family and friends.  That has been the reason I have been able to keep my head above water all of these years!

What are my hobbies/activities?

Where do I begin?  I love my hobbies!  I am an avid fisherman and golfer.  I love the thrill of competing against myself and both fishing & golfing allow me to do just that.  I love soccer.  Being the son of an ex-professional soccer player who was born/raised in Brazil, I’ve played soccer all of my life and continue to play today.  In college, I trained with a professional futébol (soccer) club, Gremio (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and although I decided to hang up my boots and go back to the U.S. to finish college, I still wonder what could have been.  What would my life be like had I stayed and played soccer in Brazil?  I wouldn’t have changed my decision if I could.  I enjoy tennis, cycling, working out, hiking, running and all of the other outdoor activities that our wonderful State has to offer.  I work hard and play harder.
